By improving the air we breathe, we create healthier and more comfortable living spaces." (Daikin Airconditioning)
This is the credo of Daikin Airconditioning, the world market leader in heating, cooling, ventilation, air purification, and refrigeration technologies, which challenged Tétris to completely rethink its layouts to create a model of circular economy and quality of work life.
Located for over thirty years in Bron, near Lyon, in a building that had become unsuitable for their work methods, the teams had the ambitious project of modernizing their organization within the new Everest Parc III site in Genas.
This was accomplished through 4,500 m² of spaces designed as flex offices and the deployment of a true customer journey to showcase their expertise: an expanded training center (1,200m²), the implementation of strategic activities including technical services and hotline, and the showroom on the top floor for welcoming professionals and individuals.
Thanks to this project, the site embodies the Group's identity, like a new technological "flagship" in France, Europe, and beyond.
As part of this project, Daikin Airconditioning wanted to implement an ambitious reuse policy and entrusted Tétris with the design, management of fit-out works, furniture solution, and relocation.
This project represented the largest deployment of the Tétris Re-Use offer to date, both in terms of size and diversification of proposed solutions: inventory and diagnosis of equipment, emptying and transfer, on-site and off-site reuse, donations to employees, and donations to associations :
- 80% of the equipment present at the initial site was eligible for reuse and could be offered free of charge to employees or donated to associations. Proof of the operation's internal success: almost 85% of Daikin Airconditioning employees participated in the campaign (where, from experience, average participation rates of 20 to 30% are typically recorded).
- 10% of reusable equipment was integrated into the new office layout, while those whose condition did not allow for reuse were integrated into a recycling circuit.
The strength of the Tétris Re-Use offer lies in the teams' ability to identify and diversify their sources of reused equipment. Daikin Airconditioning was able to benefit from the resale of furniture from the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (COJOP). Thus, 100% of workstations, office chairs, and autonomous acoustic pods are of high quality and come from the COJOP. Overall, 80% of the furniture (by weight) comes from reuse and has been carefully reconditioned by our partner companies. From one challenge to another, the promise of a great story!
These actions have thus allowed a reduction in carbon footprint of nearly 17 tons of CO2 (source Valdelia), equivalent to 17 round-trip Paris-New York flights.
Alongside this innovative reuse approach, particular attention was paid to Design to meet the needs of the company's core services and reinvent work environments. This was made possible through the co-construction work between Tétris and a panel of internal ambassadors, ensuring a layout perfectly adapted to the specific uses and needs of each profession.
The Design concept drew heavily on Daikin Airconditioning's identity and Japanese roots. The atmosphere is understated and soothing, formed by blue - white - beige tones, mixed with material effects brought by wood or woven surfaces found on walls, floors, or in layouts. Considerable work was done on acoustics and the choice of high-performance materials, particularly on floors and ceilings (custom-made false ceiling boxes and baffles), as well as on numerous decorative details.
Finally, the entire interior journey, the "Daikin Tour," is led by a blue "thread" that accompanies the visitor from the ground floor to the attic, where the Experience Center showroom awaits, designed as an immersive show apartment for private clients.
The entire Tétris Design - Build - Furniture - Re-Use team was pleased to accompany Daikin Airconditioning over these 18 months, in this technical and aesthetic challenge, to make this multipurpose space a technological and virtuous showcase. This emblematic project embodies a true success and marks a decisive turning point in terms of environmental commitment.
