Tétris partnered with Cosentino to deliver a distinctive London showroom design blending Victorian heritage with modern innovation.
Challenge
Cosentino, a Spanish global leader company in producing innovative surfaces for architecture and design, needed to expand their London high street City showroom to accommodate their growing product range, including new dedicated areas for bathroom mock-ups and an inviting exterior terrace.
Working with an initial illustrated concept supplied by Cosentino the team were faced with several challenges that required creative thinking and careful attention to detail to resolve. The high street walk-in showroom is in a Victorian heritage building which needed additional structural engineering to support the weight of the client’s products.
Innovative solutions for displaying a range of interchangeable products while showcasing aesthetically pleasing mock-ups of bathrooms required purpose-designed fittings and aligning contemporary design elements into the existing Victorian detailing to create a beautiful cohesive environment called for crafted shopfitting.
Solution
The Tétris team delivered a revitalised showroom that successfully blends pragmatic innovation with technical expertise, layered with a contemporary mediterranean aesthetic. The mezzanine level provides an informal meeting space with a café and shopfitting that is meticulously crafted to fit around the Victorian ceiling and wall detailing while on the ground floor, digital screens sit alongside swivelling panels of floor mounted samples that are supported by the new weight bearing infrastructure built into the floor.
The showcase bathrooms feature sliding vertical drawers containing different product samples carefully set into discreet metal frames for easy replacement, while the space is filled with furniture, lights and planters that evoke a luxurious contemporary lifestyle. Throughout the showroom, shelving and counters provide opportunities for client discussions while being immersed in an environment that celebrates Spanish design flair.
By interpreting a global brand concept into local building standards, the Tétris team has created solutions, through design and specialised detailing, that will help future Cosentino City showrooms developments.
