Challenge
We recently embarked on an exciting Design & Build project for Carmila, a company renowned for revitalising shopping centres. Our challenge was to transform a 1,200 sqm space into an unique space of organic fluidity, biophilic design, and community proximity, aligning with Carmila’s core values.
From the onset, we centered our approach on three pillars that resonate with Carmila’s vision. Firstly, we embraced the concept of "Bringing the Outside In" by incorporating fluid, organic forms that mirror nature's elegance. The design seamlessly connects the interior with the external environment, fostering a sense of openness and serenity.
Biophilic design was our second cornerstone. We infused the space with elements that evoke the natural world, integrating greenery, natural light, and textures that enhance the wellbeing of Carmila’s employees and visitors. This approach not only beautifies the environment but also supports mental and physical health, creating an atmosphere where people feel connected and inspired.
Proximity, a fundamental value of Carmila, guided the layout and functionality of the space. The heart of our design is an agora – a flexible, open area designed to host events, training sessions, and coaching programs. This central hub is more than just a meeting place; it’s a symbol of community and support, embodying Carmila’s commitment to helping small businesses thrive.
Solution
Our dedication to sustainability was paramount throughout the project. We opted for certified sustainable materials made from natural fibres, ensuring that every aspect of the build was environmentally responsible. These choices not only align with modern ecological standards but also contribute to a healthier, more sustainable workspace.
The final result is a fluid, flexible, and organic environment that exudes nature and promotes wellbeing. This transformative space stands as a testament to Carmila’s visionary approach and Tétris’s commitment to creating inspirational, sustainable designs.
