Supporting a law firm in the design and construction of its offices requires balancing brand image, functionality, and respect for a demanding architectural setting. For its offices in Paris’s 16th arrondissement, the law firm BSBM entrusted Tétris with a comprehensive Design & Build assignment, with a clear objective: modernise the workspaces while preserving the prestige and character of a Haussmann-style building.
The challenge of design and construction for a Paris-based law firm
BSBM, a Paris law firm, wanted to redesign its offices to better reflect current ways of working, while maintaining the elegance and prestige associated with its profession. The project involved several major challenges.
The first concerned the technical constraints specific to a Haussmann building, which required a high level of precision during construction works and full control over interventions on existing architectural features. The second challenge related to the aesthetic outcome, which had to be fully aligned with the high-end positioning of a Paris law firm. Finally, the new layout needed to optimise space in order to accommodate all teams in functional and comfortable working conditions.
In this context, BSBM selected Tétris for its Design & Build expertise, as well as its ability to deliver projects that successfully combine architectural heritage with modern workplace design.
A tailored Tétris solution
Architectural reconfiguration with respect for the existing building
Tétris teams first carried out the removal of a large number of existing partitions in order to completely rethink the spatial layout. New dry partitions were then installed, with particular care taken to faithfully reproduce original mouldings, a defining feature of Haussmann architecture.
The ceilings, lighting fixtures and herringbone parquet flooring were also refurbished identically, ensuring visual continuity throughout the space. This approach preserved the building’s character while integrating a contemporary spatial organisation.
Technical works and high-quality finishes
The project included a full scope of technical works:
- plumbing,
- HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning),
- electrical installations,
- IT cabling,
- and painting.
Numerous glass partitions were also installed, bringing natural light and transparency to the workspaces while meeting the confidentiality requirements inherent to a law firm.

A functional layout across 300 sqm
Across a total area of 300 sqm, Tétris delivered 45 workstations, thoughtfully distributed to reflect the firm’s organisation and working practices. Three individual offices were created for the partners, alongside shared offices for two people and larger spaces accommodating four to six people for associates and administrative staff.
The layout also includes a large meeting room, suitable for internal meetings and client appointments, as well as a cafeteria, designed as a convivial space within the firm.
