Claranet, a major player in IT, Cloud and AI services, entrusted Tétris with the fit-out of its new 3,000 sq m site, located on the 4th and top floor in Lezennes. The brief included a Design&Build encompassing the furniture solution, with a significant proportion of reuse.

The main challenge was twofold. Firstly, to optimize spaces for welcoming clients, who visit the site in large numbers, in order to present a clearer and higher-quality image. Secondly, to foster employee collaboration and encourage their return to the office, in a context of widespread remote working.

Finally, a clear CSR focus was expressed, notably through the refurbishment of existing furniture and an ambitious reuse approach.

A design concept conceived for client experience and collaboration

Tétris's response is built on a strong design concept, directly inspired by Claranet's DNA: a technological, slightly geeky universe, informed by references to video gaming and innovation. The design is based on a clear organization of the floor plate into two entities: a client zone and an employee zone, connected by central shared spaces.

Two "Gates" mark the transitions. The first, in red, establishes the client experience from arrival. The second, in green, introduces a more collaborative universe focused on wellbeing. Work spaces remain deliberately understated to promote concentration. Social spaces, meanwhile, express more of the company's creativity and energy.

This design work was developed through co-design, via regular workshops involving Claranet teams. This approach also translated into collaborative graphic work. Claranet's in-house graphic designers were involved in creating wall graphics, deployed throughout social and circulation spaces. These graphic elements echo the brand universe and incorporate references to other Claranet sites in France, notably in Paris and Rennes.

Beyond this overall coherence, the objective was to create an office fit-out rooted in its local environment, connected to the building, its landscaped patio and its openness to the outdoors. The design thus helps give the site a strong, distinctive identity, while reinforcing employees' sense of belonging.

Bespoke solutions for a collaborative and attractive fit-out

In the former offices, the spatial organization did not sufficiently encourage interaction between teams. Despite numerous kitchenettes and wide circulation areas, crossover remained limited and departments operated in silos. The space planning and programming work provided a concrete response to this challenge, by creating a single central point capable of accommodating all employees and becoming a true meeting place.

Tétris designed an office fit-out structured around a 400 sq m central work café, the true heart of the project. This space replaces the scattered kitchenettes and becomes an essential thoroughfare. It accommodates catering, coffee breaks, informal meetings and collective gatherings. It naturally creates opportunities for encounter and strengthens collaboration between teams.

The project integrates a wide diversity of uses:

  • meeting rooms for 4 to 20 people,
  • phone boxes,
  • dedicated client spaces,
  • games room (consoles, table football, ping-pong, music),
  • gym with showers.

Terrace access, the landscaped patio and the building's abundant natural light directly contribute to daily wellbeing. These assets strengthen employee attractiveness and sustainably encourage return to site.

A technical and responsible project serving workplace needs

The design had to work within significant technical constraints. The floor plate had neither a raised floor nor a suspended ceiling. Exposed radiant panels required precise adaptation of partitioning. Tétris developed bespoke solutions, notably "box-in-box" meeting rooms.

Acoustic considerations were integrated from the design stage. The choice of partitions and materials now guarantees sound comfort in meeting rooms and collaborative spaces, a sensitive issue in the former offices.

From an environmental perspective, the project makes reuse a pillar of its responsible approach. 86% of the furniture comes from existing stock. Furniture not retained was donated to employees, supplemented by resale of remaining items. Existing carpets were removed and repurposed via a specialized partner.

A unifying and sustainable office fit-out

The project's success is based on a collaborative approach, in-depth co-design and a fine understanding of workplace needs. Tétris transformed constraints into opportunities to create an office fit-out that optimizes client experience, stimulates collaboration and strengthens employee attractiveness. The central spaces, the space planning work, terrace access, attention to acoustics and reuse make this project a sustainable lever for performance and wellbeing.
