Challenge

Baker McKenzie sought a transformative office design that would foster a more flexible environment centered on exceptional employee and client experiences.

They needed spaces that would drive collaboration, nurture relationships, and promote knowledge-sharing—effectively expressing the firm's culture and identity as "Original Disrupters."

The environment needed to support an ethos of learning, enabling thought leaders to educate the next generation of lawyers while accommodating hybrid work patterns. Key requirements included versatile meeting areas and co-working spaces where employees and clients could connect in various settings, all while reflecting the firm's innovative approach to legal practice.

The ancient Agora reimagined to a modern workplace concept

Solution

Our design team responded with a concept inspired by the ancient Greek Agora—reimagined for the modern workplace.

We created distinct zones for meeting, debating, socializing, and knowledge-sharing that adapt to varying needs—from quiet contemplation to dynamic collaboration.

The interior reflects classical architecture through proportion and form: modern colonnades create rhythmic repetition, arched porticos frame intimate seating areas, and rounded monolithic elements provide grounding presence.
Natural materials—warm terracotta, rich wood, and natural stone—echo timeless Greek aesthetics while maintaining contemporary sophistication. Bespoke elements crafted by local artisans, including custom lighting and ceramics, bring warmth and authenticity.

The result balances organic elements with sleek finishes, creating a modern Agora where ideas flow freely and the practice of law meets ancient wisdom.
