Tétris brings VELUX’s vision to life in Lisbon’s new office
VELUX Portugal’s new Lisbon office was designed by Tétris to reflect the brand’s values through a workspace where natural light takes center stage. Spanning approximately 330 sqm, the space combines functionality, well-being, and innovation, delivering a work experience aligned with VELUX’s identity and vision.
A design philosophy centered on natural light
The project started from a fundamental truth: it would be all about windows. Danish engineer Villum Kann Rasmussen’s original vision of creating roof windows as effective as vertical windows established the foundation for this transformative workspace. His core principles of fair business, high quality, and technical innovation guided every project decision, ensuring the new office authentically reflects VELUX‘s legacy while meeting current workplace needs.
When client values and the Tétris team’s expertise align, the result transcends conventional office design. This shared commitment to improving people’s well-being while respecting environmental responsibility shaped the entire project from conception through completion.
A new chapter for VELUX
The move to the new office marked a new chapter in VELUX’s evolution in Portugal. More than just a new location, the project represented an opportunity to create a space aligned with the brand’s identity and prepared to meet new ways of working.
Designed to maximize natural light, the office prioritizes open, flexible, and collaborative environments, promoting well-being, productivity, and team interaction. The showroom also plays a central role in the spatial experience, allowing visitors to understand natural light’s impact on architecture and explore VELUX solutions through a practical, immersive approach.
A showroom that brings the brand to life
The Touch & Feel area invites visitors, clients, and partners to experience VELUX solutions firsthand through direct interaction with different mechanisms, handles, and materials. This experience allows them to explore the quality, innovation, and attention to detail that characterize the brand, creating a closer connection between product and user.
At the space’s center, a structure inspired by residential architecture demonstrates roof windows in real context, showcasing their performance and integration within the built environment. The showroom is complemented by a dedicated hands-on training area, where installation techniques and best practices are demonstrated, reinforcing VELUX’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
Sustainable materials and timeless design
Material selection was guided by the sustainability, durability, and quality principles that define VELUX. The project prioritized natural and reclaimed materials from local suppliers and responsible production processes, creating a space that balances performance, comfort, and environmental respect.
Every element was designed to harmoniously combine functionality and aesthetics. Carpentry details integrate naturally into the architecture, contributing to acoustic comfort without compromising spatial brightness. The transparent façade reinforces natural light entry and reflects VELUX’s identity, while careful material selection ensures a timeless environment built to endure.
A new work experience
The VELUX Ways of Working (WOW) methodology organizes the office into four distinct areas—work, focus, collaboration, and socialization—designed to meet different needs and work styles. This approach allows each team member to choose the most suitable environment for each task, promoting greater flexibility, productivity, and well-being throughout the day.
